WBO light welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez was born in San Francisco, and raised in Emeryville.
Many of his fondest memories are of riding the ferry to Alcatraz.
Now, in what may be a dream come true, he’s hoping to be part of three-fight deal with Turki Al-Sheikh on “The Rock” this summer.
Fight fans will well recall his winning bout against Regis Prograis at the Chase Center in December 2023.
Should the Alcatraz prize fight take place, his likely opponent will be Devin Haney.
No word yet on how crowds will be transported to Alcatraz via ferry…stay tuned.
