The Redwood City Ferry Terminal Project is creating a public ferry service from downtown San Francisco or Oakland to Redwood City, thus extending the San Francisco Bay Ferry system.
This will open alternative forms of commuting, lighten automobile traffic and expand the Port’s emergency preparedness system. Participants will be able to get to San Francisco and the East Bay in one hour and can use their Clipper Cards for payment.
The next steps in the process include environmental review and permitting with the selection of a consultant team at an upcoming Board meeting.
Last, but not least, the port is asking ferry riders to complete the San Francisco Bay Ferry 2050Â survey.
By taking part in the survey, Cultural Currents readers may help drive the future of the SF Ferry.
Participants are automatically entered into a drawing for prizes.
As always, the port would like to thank the Water Emergency Transportation Authority for their continued support and partnership in this project.
